The UAE is surrounded by two bodies of water both offering different diving experiences. Dubai is good for Shipwrecks, which are home to Barracuda, Snappers and Jacks, with Common Rays and the odd Eagle Ray making an appearance. Some of the Wrecks have fascinating histories and provide fun safe penetration possibilities. The East Coast has over 50 dive sites, from shallow reefs off Khorfakkan to the deep wall dives in the Musandam. Live-aboard charters are available in the Musandam which is becoming a popular destination for divers looking to explore new territories. The best time to dive is April to October, even though the temperatures get quite high.

The Pavilion Dive Centre at Jumeirah Beach Hotel offer course starting at Dhs 200 for a Discover Scuba Experience to Dhs 1,850 for the PADI Open Water Course. Dive trips are available (weather permitting) and the dive boats depart the marina at 9am for 2 dives returning at approx 2pm. Prices range from Dhs 250 to Dhs 700.
